I created this wildflower photography website to share my appreciation of the beauty and diversity of our wildflower natural heritage. I am a photographer, not a botanist or website creator so there are no bells and whistles here, just beautiful wildflowers and probably some mistakes. If you feel like contacting me to exchange information I will get back to you at the first opportunity. I am an ethical photographer so if you want to share some special places or rare wildflowers I will appreciate learning about new places and plants of special interest.
All the photos were created using a Fuji S2 digital SLR camera. Most of the time I use a macro lens and often a portable artifical light to be assured of sharpness and good depth of field, especially in breezy or dark conditions. I carry along a few accessories to help separate the main subject from distracting backgrounds using light. A mower or scissors are not in my bag. When I need to, I have no qualms about fine tuning a photo with the computer.
These wildflower photographs have been reduced in size and severly compressed with the idea they will be less attractive to illegal use. Please respect copyright laws, and me, by not using any of my photos without written permission.
There are two parts of this website -- the gallery of wildflower photos listed by state and province and a section for a traveling exhibit of 80 photos I put together in 2005. The traveling exhibit photos are selections from western states. The gallery of wildflower photographs will continue growing though I may not have new photos added until the flower season is over. Check back for a larger list of states and certainly more wildflower photos within each state.
