Exhibit

Mexico's Baja
Pennisula consists of two states - Baja California & Baja California Sur. Their common boundary is
the 28th Parallel.

All 2011 photos are
from March 11-April 5,
the first and definitely
not the last trip to Baja.
2011 has been a
drought year, so
nowhere near the
wildflowers blooming

as a "normal" desert
year. A friend got to
San Jose del Cabo
November 3, 2010 and
said it had not rained a drop as of March 25, 2011.

I've found two Baja
plant books --
Flora of Baja Calif. by
Ira Wiggins, 1980. This
flora represents about
3000 taxa.

The other is Norman
Robert's Baja California
Plant Field Guide, 1989.
550 species are
mentioned and it
includes 275 photos.
Both have been essential
to identifying the photos

on these pages. I still have a ways to go and maybe someday I will get to give those "to be determined" real
names as well as correct the identification errors.

Jon Rebman at the
San Diego Natural
History Museum is revising Roberts as well as creating an updated Baja Calfornia checklist of about 4000 taxa.
