Mexico's Baja |
All 2011 photos are from March 11-April 5, the first and definitely not the last trip to Baja. 2011 has been a drought year, so nowhere near the wildflowers blooming |
as a "normal" desert year. A friend got to San Jose del Cabo November 3, 2010 and said it had not rained a drop as of March 25, 2011. |
I've found two Baja |
The other is Norman Robert's Baja California Plant Field Guide, 1989. 550 species are mentioned and it includes 275 photos. Both have been essential to identifying the photos |
on these pages. I still have a ways to go and maybe someday I will get to give those "to be determined" real names as well as correct the identification errors. |
Jon Rebman at the San Diego Natural History Museum is revising Roberts as well as creating an updated Baja Calfornia checklist of about 4000 taxa. |
